Welcome
I am an award-winning freelance journalist specializing in travel, cultural and culinary destinations, and places where living sustainably rules. My work appears in national and regional newspapers, magazines, and digital media. I have launched and authored many regularly appearing columns and features, including the Nonstop and Celebrity Traveler columns for The Baltimore Sun, and Travel Post-Its for The Saturday Evening Post. I worked on the launch team of several start-up publications, including one of the internet’s earliest family websites, Mom.com, as the editor and a contributing writer for the website’s Travel and Education channels.
I have held longtime memberships to my industry’s most prestigious professional organizations: American Society of Journalists and Authors, Society for American Travel Writers, The Authors Guild, Society of Professional Journalists, and the (now defunct) Association of Food Journalists.
These days, when I’m not out exploring the world, I split my time between Longboat Key, FL and the Mid-Atlantic United States, residing with my husband, dog and two cats. I am eternally missing, but oh-so-proud of my grown-up children who have ventured out into the world and are doing wondrous work.
Please check out my writing samples. I'd love to work with you soon.
“Stephanie Citron is a true professional. For an editor, she's a joy to work with. Conscientious, diligent, a real team player. She gets the big picture--and she really cares."
